About the RCEMSE
The Regional Center for EMS Education (RCEMSE) is a partnership between Kirkwood Community College, Mercy Medical Center, Area Ambulance Service and St Lukes Hospital. By combining resources, the RCEMSE is able to offer high quality, accessible EMS education programs in the seven county area served by Kirkwood Community College. Today our Programs have grown and changed. The Iowa Paramedic Specialist Program is accredited by CAAHEP. We offer our First Responder, and EMT-Intermediate course as a part of Continuing Education. Our EMT-Basic course and Iowa Paramedic Specialist courses are offered for college credit. For more information on our course click on the links. Since 1978, the Emergency Medical Services Learning Resources Center (EMSLRC) has been an emergency medical service educational department within UI Hospitals and Clinics.
Our staff provides quality educational programs for all members of the EMS system. Whether you are a physician, nurse or paramedic searching for continuing education, or you are seeking initial training as an EMT or paramedic, we invite you to explore our many course offerings.
